Biographies

Carrie Scott studied vocal performance and took classes in music/dance/theater at Brigham Young University before graduating from there with a Bachelor of Music degree in Media Music. She has performed for audiences from Alaska to Mexico, from California to Washington, DC, and for international audiences in India and England. She has been featured on radio and television and has been hired to sing for several commercials.

Over the years, Carrie has played principal and supporting roles in many theatrical productions, has participated in multiple school, church, and community choirs, and has been a featured vocalist with the Salt Lake Symphonic Choir.

Carrie has performed as a solo artist and with various blues bands since she was 18 and has performed extensively throughout the Intermountain West over the past 14 years as a lead singer for The Soulistics, a nine-piece party band that plays classic and modern soul, funk, R&B, and disco music. She also held a weekly jazz gig for years with her combo, After Hours, and has been a guest vocalist with Salt Lake’s Jazz Vespers band, Brigham Young University’s big band, Synthesis, and The Stratford Street Big Band in Salt Lake City. She enjoys songwriting and produced an album of her original music spanning several genres titled Segue.

When she is not singing, Carrie works as a licensed clinical mental health counselor and is the clinical director at Healing Pathways Therapy Center, an outpatient trauma-focused mental health clinic in Salt Lake City. She loves humanitarian work and has both volunteered and been employed with several nonprofit organizations, including spending ten months living in India and working with leprosy-affected people. She received the honor “Iconic Leader Creating a Better World for ALL” at the 2017 ALL Women Economic Forum in New Delhi, India. She recently married Teiste Brito and they enjoy cooking, gardening, and exploring nature together.

Luke Lords was born and raised in Boise. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Choral Conducting from BYU-Idaho and his Master’s degree in Musical Theatre Performance from New York University.

Luke was the first Choral Director at Rocky Mountain High School and developed a musical theatre curriculum that was adopted and implemented by the West Ada School District. While at Rocky he also directed The Music Man and Bye Bye Birdie.

While at NYU, Luke played Doc (The Most Happy Fella), Tobias (Sweeney Todd), Jamie (The Last Five Years), and Billy Van Cleve (Sweet Smell of Success). He also won an Off-Broadway contract at the York Theater and played Dwight in Elevator Music. He’s also played Cornelius in Boise Music Week’s Hello Dolly.

Luke Lords is an accomplished director and has directed local productions of Savior of the World, The Ark (starring Cantus directors Keith McCauley and Michelle Pedersen), Handel’s Messiah, Rutter’s Requiem, Come Together Kuna Community Choir, and the Idaho High School Theater Awards with the Broadway League.

Luke Lords is currently the Director of Arts Education at the Morrison Center in Boise, Idaho. He also ran a thriving voice studio and had students go on to appear in Regional, Touring, and Off-Broadway productions. Prior to his current position at the Morrison Center, Luke taught music for the Boise School District.
