Cantus Youth Choirs has been my second home. When I joined, I was a shy kid who had no friends. Every week I made more and more friends. These past few years have been especially hard, and Cantus has been my place to get away. All of the directors are so kind and welcoming. Every practice has been an amazing experience. I always look forward to Cantuesday and the joys it brings.

I was in Cantus for 8 years. I joined the second year. I can honestly say it has changed my life. I loved the experiences I got from Cantus and the opportunity it gave me to grow and become more confident. My mom has told me that before Cantus I was kind of a mess … I was always slouching and had no confidence when it came to performing in front of people but now that I’m graduated I can look back and see how far I’ve come. The music is always so incredible and inspiring and the directors are so kind. We always had the best tours which allowed us to make so many new friends. I never found myself regretting my choice to be in Cantus. I wouldn’t take it back for anything and I’d do all 8 years over again if I could!

This is a great program and I am proud to be a part of such an awesome organization! 

Cantus kept my love for music alive when I started attending a high school without extracurricular activities. The directors became some of my greatest friends and inspirations when I was going through hard times. My choir members were some of the best people I’ve ever met and I’m thankful for having been able to meet them. Lots of love to the Cantus family!

Cantus Youth Choirs completely shaped my adolescent years. I spent five years going to practice once a week, participating in the best choir in Idaho. The friendships I made are long lasting and the experiences I had with the music and with others have been life changing. Looking back on those years, I would have changed much, but never have I wished to change my experience in Cantus. I still look forward to singing with other alumni at each concert. Cantus truly is an amazing experience.

We are so very thankful for Cantus Youth Choirs. We were privileged to have had a child join Cantus in it’s inaugural year and, because of his experience, three more of our children spent and are currently spending their junior high and high school years in Cantus as well.

Our children have not just received exceptional, musical instruction in chorale singing but have learned respect and kindness for directors and other students, to work with excellence in a group, leadership, to be responsible for expectations and details required of such an organization, to practice selflessness and to find joy and personal fulfillment in performing with heart for the benefit of others.

It is the best choir I have ever been in. I love being there every rehearsal.

Cantus youth choirs is one of the most wholesome organizations I’ve ever been apart of! It has a loving, accepting, and inclusive nature which invites all to come and sing songs of inspiration, and HOPE. It gives students the chance to understand professionalism and have accountability for their actions. It provides you with connections and relationships you will cherish forever! Cantus is incredible and Cantus will only make your life better for years and years to come!

I had such an amazing experience being a part of this choir for the past 5 years! When I first joined Cantus I didn’t know a single person, but I was immediately welcomed by so many people. Ever since that first day, I’ve wanted to keep coming back because of the amazing music created there, and because of the peers and directors that are always there to support and care for you. With such an uplifting group of people, a safe environment, and one of the most beautiful musical experiences I’ve been a part of, I would highly recommend Cantus Youth Choirs to anybody!

I got to be in Cantus for 3 years and it was one of my favorite parts of my high school years. I feel like I learned so much from each and every one of my directors. I enjoyed going to rehearsal each week and loved concerts and tours. I met lots of new friends and grew as a singer and as a leader. I am so grateful for my time in the choir and I loved all of my directors, they work so well with the kids. If you are reading this, you should join Cantus too! You won’t regret the opportunity and experience.

This choir has been so great for both my kids. My one son who is autistic finds that the environment is very safe, which can be very difficult to find. My daughter loves it too. The directors are kind, intelligent, and fun. I would and do recommend Cantus to everyone I know. Especially for children who have a hard time fitting in and making friends. I feel my kids not only learn great music but they also learning wonderful character building skills by the dedicated and loving directors.

These choirs were a highlight of my middle and high school years! I sang in Cantus for six years and had an incredible experience! I learned discipline, grew musically, and developed leadership skills, all while I sang with people who soon became some of my greatest friends.

Cantus helped me become more compassionate as I learned to look outside of myself and empathize with those who had different challenges than myself. The directors truly have the singers’ best interest in mind, and work tirelessly to create the best experience for them. I’ve seen it firsthand. Cantus is truly a remarkable organization that will teach lifelong lessons to those who participate. Highly recommend!

Being a part of Cantus Youth Choirs was the highlight of my high school experience! I have never been in such an inclusive and uplifting environment. The directors weren’t just my directors, they became trusted mentors and friends. Another reason that I love Cantus is because of all the amazing people that I met through this program that will be lifelong friends. If you are looking to have a social, musical, and fun experience wrapped up into one, look no further. Cantus will always have a piece of my heart and I recommend joining this awesome organization to anyone and everyone!!

This choir has been amazing for all four of my children. The conductors are fabulous and the quality is top notch!

Cantus is so AMAZING! I have learned so much from the 7 years I participated in this youth choir. Every director I had treated me so kindly and they make sure everyone has a chance for a solo in some way. Good or bad. Everyone gets a chance for the spotlight.

Cantus is very professional. They make sure we stay on task and are the best we can be! To accomplish that they spent a lot of effort in to make sure rehearsal time was used STRICTLY for learning and singing music. So because they know we are crazy kids who just want to have fun they make sure they set up special get togethers So we can build friendships and relationships with the other kids.

Something that is unique about Cantus is that they allow anyone into the choir, even kids with special needs and need a safe place to go.
Cantus takes music to a whole new level. We spend hours just talking about what each song means to us personally so we can share our heart through music.

Cantus Youth Choirs is the best thing I could have chosen to commit eight years of my life to. It provides so many unique opportunities to all ages, and everyone that wants to participate and puts in the effort will be rewarded with amazing experiences and impressive skills. Throughout my time with Cantus I had the opportunity to sing, dance, solo, play instruments, lead, direct, and so much more! These are experiences I never received through a regular school choir, which makes me even more appreciative of the organization.

The directors are so kind and inclusive, and sincerely care about and understand the youth they interact with. I’m not the most impressive singer, but I was always given opportunities to solo and showcase my voice when I genuinely tried and put in the effort. There is no favoritism in Cantus which is so refreshing and exciting, because that means that opportunities are always fair and plentiful.

In addition, songs are always carefully chosen with a purpose to be fun, uplifting, beautiful, and respectful. Hundreds of languages and cultures have been represented tastefully over the years, and choir members have had the opportunity to become so incredibly well-rounded and culturally aware because of it.

Cantus Youth Choirs is truly a family, and if you are willing to put in the effort, I promise you will have a good experience.

The staff at Cantus work incredibly hard to create an unforgettable experience for their students. My two kids have absolutely loved it.
