Season 9 Contemporary Ensemble Auditions on Tuesday, May 1, 8 and callbacks on May 15

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Presto, Fortis, Bella Visi, and VoiceOver. Auditions for Concordia, Virtuoso Singers, Concert Choir, and Chorale will be held later. Learn more about our various ensembles.

Please note the following audition schedule. We cannot accommodate any exceptions to this schedule. If you want to be considered for Presto, Fortis, Bella Visi, or VoiceOver, you must come and audition at the specified times for your grade and gender. PLEASE NOTE: Auditions are held for the grade that you will be in NEXT year! If you’re currently in 6th grade, you can audition because you’ll be in 7th grade next year.

Presto Auditions

Please read carefully. Singers will be auditioned by gender in groups of eight. If you are male, you will be auditioned with seven other males. These audition groups will be created in a first-come-first-served basis. If you want to audition with your friends, you will want to arrive and check-in with Mrs. Paskett at the same time.

Females auditioning for Presto may be be asked to sing Soprano and/or Alto. Males may be asked to sing Tenor and/or Bass. If you are capable of singing either part, you will want to learn all parts that you can sing. Singers may be asked to sing scales or intervals to test range and pitch matching. Don’t worry! We do this all the time in rehearsal. Presto will audition for a panel including Krista Carroll, Brandi Cook and Keith McCauley.

What are callbacks, and how do I get an invitation?

Presto will not have callbacks, please ignore this section, and scroll down to register for auditions.

After the auditions held on May 8, Brandi Cook, Keith McCauley and Annie Roberts will email out a list of singers they want to hear at Callbacks. Singers invited to Callbacks will be considered for Fortis, Bella Visi and VoiceOver. We’ll work with females first, then our males, and then may invite all or some females and males to our Mixed Callbacks at 8:00 pm. You will need to be available for the entire evening. Cook, McCauley and Roberts will collaborate and place singers in Fortis, Bella Visi and VoiceOver.

How do I register for auditions?

All singers interested in Presto, Fortis, Bella Visi, or VoiceOver will need to:

  1. Join Cantus for Season 9; you must first register for next season and pay tuition (up front or auto pay) for us to consider you for any of these groups. Remember: tuition is non-refundable, so make sure you are committed to singing in Cantus for Season 9, regardless of whether or not you make a contemporary ensemble. Once you’ve done that, please proceed to step 2.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of this page and fill out the audition registration form. You’ll receive an email with information from this page.
  3. Come to your specified audition time (see table above).
  4. Check in with Mrs. Paskett in the upstairs lobby at Tree City Church.
  5. Mrs. Paskett will give you an audition number and call your group when it’s your turn to audition.

I’ve read everything and am ready to register for auditions.
