Cantus Youth Choirs is proud to present our first ever Cantus alumnus, Sydney Stephan, as our guest artist at the Season 16 Finale Concert, TOTALLY TUBULAR, on April 11, 2026 at The Brandt.
Sydney Stephan is a multi-talented performer, producer, and artist making her mark in New York City.
A lifelong creative, Sydney has been acting, making music, and creating art since before kindergarten. She made her professional theatre debut at age 14 and by 17 was sharing the stage at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival with Corey Mach (And Juliet National Tour, Merrily on Broadway) and Keri René Fuller (Cats National Tour, Six on Broadway), under the direction of Victoria Bussert. She also made her television debut on Disney Channel’s Andi Mack in Season 2.
After earning a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Utah, Sydney traveled to more than 50 countries with Holland America Line as a featured vocalist and piano entertainer. Now based in New York City, she performs regularly at venues including The Friki Tiki, Bo Peep Lounge, and The Ivy Room, drawing from a repertoire of over 600 songs spanning six continents. In 2023, she released a live EP featuring two original songs — “Silver Palace” and “Alaska” — available on all streaming platforms.
Sydney has also made a name for herself as a producer, creating shows such as 54 Below Sings the British Invasion & Beyond and The Spooky Spectacular! She produced a solo show at Green Room 42 in 2023 and organized the University of Utah’s first-ever agent showcase in 2021, with guidance from Shorey Walker and the Growing Studio.
No stranger to new work, Sydney played Flora Cranley in the world premiere of The Invisible Man at the Virginia City Opera House, flexed her acting chops in George M. Cohan’s Seven Keys to Baldpate, and has workshopped and participated in readings of several new musicals in New York City. She also played Bebe Benzenheimer in A Chorus Line, directed by Broadway’s Eric Sciotto and featuring the original choreography of Michael Bennett.
