Cara Stewart
Associate Director
Born with a passion for all things music, Cara Stewart has spent her life enthusiastically participating in the performing arts. She began studying piano, dance and voice at a young age and was fortunate to have many opportunities to cultivate a love of performing.
Cara grew up in the Meridian, Idaho area where she received an excellent music education while singing in choirs under the direction of Gabe Caretto and John Hamilton. She was cast in leading musical roles as Kim Mcafee in Bye Bye Birdie, Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun, and Annie in the musical production of Annie.
It was while she was studying abroad in France that she was able to recognize music as a universal language and see its influence in the world, spurring her desire to teach. She attended Utah State University on scholarship as a Sunburst Singer and continued performing in choirs throughout her education under the direction of Will Kesling and Derek Furch. She met Scott Stewart in Logan while attending school, and was married in 1997.
Over the past twenty-five years, Cara has taught piano and voice students in her own studio, while simultaneously raising her own five children. She teaches youth in her church to sing and has been involved with many musical projects in her church community. She has eagerly been involved with Kuna High School as she has co-directed and choreographed musicals such as Oklahoma, Pirates of Penzance, and helped with musical revues. She volunteers her time with the choirs there, including participating in choir retreats and choir tours.
In her free time, Cara loves to travel, both internationally and within the United States, backpack, mountain bike, ski, sing, sing, and sing some more!
