Heather Ray

Heather Ray is a seasoned choral educator with 17 years of teaching experience, including 16 years in the Boise School District. She began her career at East and Hillside Junior Highs before serving four years at East Junior High, where her program earned regional recognition and invitations to perform at the 2007 Idaho ACDA Fall Retreat and the 2008 Northwestern ACDA Convention.

She later spent ten years at Borah High School—her alma mater—where she served as Choral Director and Music Department Chair, leading five choral ensembles and a jazz combo. Under her direction, Borah choirs consistently received superior ratings and were invited to perform throughout the Northwest.

After stepping away from full-time teaching in 2019, Heather returned briefly in 2023 as an interim choral director at Meridian High School in the West Ada School District.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Music from Concordia College (2002), where she performed with the Concordia Choir under René Clausen. A dedicated member of ACDA and NAfME for over two decades, she has held multiple leadership roles at the state and regional levels. She also continues to support music education through her work with Cantus Youth Choirs.
