CANTUS TOUR BEHAVIOR STANDARDS

SUMMARY: Cantus Youth Choirs sets high expectations for singers to maintain a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment. Each participant is responsible for demonstrating respect, making good choices, and adhering to behavioral guidelines. Respect is emphasized through kind language, courtesy, and being on time for events. Good manners are crucial, particularly when visiting theme parks, restaurants, and hotels, where the buddy system and respectful behavior are required. Additionally, no singer should go anywhere alone, and pranks or unlawful actions can result in immediate dismissal from the program. Etiquette during rehearsals and performances includes avoiding talking or distractions, while cell phones must be turned off, and dress codes and appropriate behavior are enforced. Consequences for violating the behavior contract range from warnings to permanent removal from Cantus. Singers are reminded that they represent the Cantus community and should always act responsibly.

WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, INDEMNITY, HOLD HARMLESS, PAYMENT, AND BEHAVIOR AGREEMENT

SUMMARY: This agreement releases Cantus Youth Choirs from any liability for injuries, damages, or losses during tour activities, including performances at Disney theme parks. Participants and their guardians accept all risks and agree not to hold Cantus responsible for accidents or incidents. Payment obligations require full payment once the deposit is made, with no refunds unless the participant’s spot is transferred to another singer with permission. Participants must follow Cantus behavior standards and Disney’s rules, including dress codes and device policies. Misconduct can result in removal from the tour without refund and possible financial responsibility. By signing, participants and guardians acknowledge they understand and accept these terms.

Outfits and Supplies

March 20 Performance Outfit and supplies

Disney is very particular about performance outfits. We are not allowed to wear in the park before or after the performance. Singers will have 20 minutes to change in a backstage area. We cannot change in the park bathrooms–our group can get in trouble for this. No wrinkles or exceptions; Disney will pre-screen right before performance and singers not in compliance will not be allowed to perform.

Performance day outfit logistics: Singers will put their performance outfit in a garment bag labeled with their name (includes tour t-shirt, black slacks, black socks, black dress shoes, black belt … everything must be solid black), and meet for a drop-off and rehearsal at Embassy Suites by Hilton Anaheim South (11767 Harbor Blvd, Garden Grove, CA 92840) on Wednesday, March 19 6-7:30pm.

The next morning, singers will dress for the park in casual clothes of their choice and bring a labeled backpack with them (including any hair supplies or makeup). We’ll meet at California Adventure’s Stage 12 Food Truck by Monster’s Inc. entrance at 10AM, go backstage, change into performance outfits, go on stage, perform, exit to backstage, change back into casual clothes, and “pack-out” their performance outfit in their backpack. Tour t-shirts may ONLY be worn during the performance.

Cantus provides:

  • Tour t-shirt (to be put on directly before the performance, and changed out of directly following);
  • 2-day park hopper ticket (you need to load that ticket onto the Disneyland app)

You will provide:

  • Black dress slacks (no jeans, sweats, athletic pants, etc) with black belt
  • Black dress socks
  • Solid ALL black, closed-toe dress shoes with less than 1 inch heel (no casual shoes, boots, sparkles)
  • Hair and makeup should be semi-formal (makeup not required for young singers)
  • labeled backpack with makeup and hair supplies
  • money for food or packed food
  • money for locker rental (optional)
  • MagicBand+, OR cell phone for scanning into rides and mobile food ordering, OR Disneyland ticket in lanyard (take a photo of the ticket barcode)

March 21 Workshop Outfit and supplies

You may not change in the park bathrooms–our group can get in trouble for this. Please consider wearing your tour shirt all day. We are not allowed to bring backpacks, food, or drinks into the workshop.

  • Tour t-shirt (may be worn all day).

You will provide:

  • Casual pants, shorts, or skirt (must be at least mid-thigh)
