  1. No face paint (though extreme makeup is encouraged), sunglasses on face, or masks
  2. Arms and legs should be covered (no sleeveless), skirts should be knee-length and paired with opaque leggings, no cleavage or low-cut or skin-tight tops/skirts
  3. Big hair, wigs (boys and girls) are encouraged
  4. Due to riser-choreography, Rhapsody girls should wear pants

Major trends from the 1980s

Power Dressing — Sharp-shouldered suits, structured blazers, bold colors, and statement accessories worn by professional women asserting authority in the workplace.

Preppy — Clean-cut, affluent style featuring polo shirts, cable-knit sweaters, khakis, boat shoes, and brands like Ralph Lauren and Lacoste.

Punk — Rebellious aesthetic with leather jackets, ripped clothing, safety pins, band t-shirts, combat boots, mohawks, and DIY customization.

New Wave — Art-school cool blending punk edge with sleeker, more colorful elements—asymmetrical haircuts, bold makeup, geometric patterns, and synthesizer-era futurism.

Glam/New Romantic — Theatrical, androgynous style with ruffles, makeup on men, extravagant hair, and romantic Victorian-inspired elements.

Valley Girl/Teen — Miniskirts (with opaque leggings), off-the-shoulder tops, jelly shoes, scrunchies, and bright colors popularized by mall culture.

Goth — Dark, moody aesthetic with black clothing, pale makeup, dramatic eyeliner, lace, velvet, and Victorian or medieval influences.

Miami Vice/Italian Style — Relaxed elegance with pastel suits, linen, t-shirts under blazers, loafers without socks, and a sun-soaked sophistication.
