Annie Roberts

Associate Director of VoiceOver

Annie Roberts is excited to be a director with Cantus Youth Choirs, where she works exclusively with the contemporary group, VoiceOver. Mrs. Roberts’ involvement in Cantus goes back to the beginning where she served on the board of directors for the first three seasons and helped launch VoiceOver with Keith McCauley.

Mrs. Roberts graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and an English as a Second Language (ESL) Endorsement. She taught school in Provo, Utah.

Mrs. Roberts has been very involved in music throughout her life. She began singing and playing the piano as a young girl and developed a love for musical theatre when she was cast in the roles of Annie in Annie, Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, and Brigitta in The Sound of Music. Other musicals include It’s My Life, The King and I and Fiddler on the Roof. In college she was cast as Fastrada in Pippin and sang in an eight-person a cappella group at BYU where she was named Best Female Vocalist at a regional a cappella competition.

Mrs. Roberts has taught private voice and piano lessons and directed several youth and adult church choirs and programs. She is currently studying contemporary vocal technique with Allison Linton.

Mrs. Roberts is a huge college football fan (Roll Tide, Go Cougars)! Additionally, she loves spending time with her husband and two sons, serving in her church, doing CrossFit, writing music, and playing tennis.

Mrs. Roberts’ mentors include: Michelle Morris, Marlene Hillam, Paunie Van Orden, Elizabeth Bossard, and Merrill Barney.
