Annie Roberts

Annie Roberts

Associate Director of VoiceOver, Chorale, Virtuoso

Annie Roberts is in her eleventh season with Cantus Youth Choirs! Her involvement in Cantus goes back to the very beginning where she served on the board of directors for the first three seasons and helped launch VoiceOver with Keith McCauley.

Annie is a native Idahoan and has been very involved in music throughout her life. She began singing, playing the piano, and dancing as a young girl. She developed a love for musical theatre and was cast in the roles of Annie in Annie, Brigitta in The Sound of Music, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. In her high school years she performed often as a solo singer, continued her study of the piano, and was a varsity cheerleader.

In college Annie was cast as Fastrada in Pippin and also performed in The King and I. In addition, she sang with Integral, an eight-person male/female a cappella group, where she was named Best Female Vocalist at the regional ICCA competition. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Elementary Education and taught school in Provo, Utah.

Over the years, she has taught voice and piano lessons, directed several youth and adult church choirs and programs, and started writing some of her own music. Most recently, she was part of the Lamb of God committee and helped to bring this beautiful oratorio to Meridian. Her focus has shifted more from performer to director where she has discovered a love for helping others develop their musical talents.

Annie is married to Denton Roberts and is the mother of two sons. She loves sports, especially college football, and has been an avid CrossFitter for 10 years (sadly, she’s still not very strong).
