Assemble your own outfit for the Season Finale Concert

Please wear your outfit to our April 19 rehearsal. If you have any questions, please text a photo of your outfit to Erika McCauley at 208-407-4522.

No concert blacks

In a typical season, we have two concerts and a tour, which is why it makes sense to purchase the Cantus concert black gowns and vests/bowties. Because (1) we haven’t had a live concert in three semesters, (2) kids grow out of clothes so fast, and (3) to reduce financial burden on families, we’ve decided to wait until next Season before returning to the concert black outfits. Which means we need you to source your own outfit for the Season Finale concert.

Concordia, Virtuoso, Concert Choir, and Chorale wear NEUTRAL PREP

Here’s a lookbook of the theme. Think white with pops of neutral preppy and you’ll be good! Please do NOT go out and buy a new outfit. We chose this look to save money for families.

Color palette

The overall palette is white with accents of neutral and muted tans and greys.

WARNING! Because the palette is so light, and the stage will be flooded with light, please make sure that age-appropriate and properly-colored undergarments (bras, slips, undershirts, long shorts under dresses) are worn.

Here are some ideas for assembling your outfit:

  • White dress with a cream cardigan
  • Camel khakis with a white polo, brown shoes, brown belt
  • Ivory skirt with white shirt and tan cardigan
  • White dress shirt with grey chinos, brown shoes, and brown belt, add a solid grey bowtie
  • Grey suit with white dress shirt, brown shoes, brown belt
  • Khakis with grey vest, white dress shirt

Jewelry and accessories

Please no watches or bracelets.

Yes to scarves, cardigans, layers, and vests. You can wear your Cantus jewelry, pearls, small rhinestones, or small silver jewelry.

Footwear

Brown shoes are preferred if you have them or can borrow some. If not, black is ok. Guys should wear brown socks with brown shoes and black socks with black shoes. Belts should match your shoes. Casual shoes like sandals or canvas shoes may be worn if they fit in the color palette (and will stay on if you have choreography), and do not have visible logos and are non-athletic. Heels should be 1 inch or less.

Coverage standards

No sleeveless tops.

No bare midriff (you need to be able to lift your arms straight up over your head and have at least 1 inch overlap of shirt over bottoms).

No tears or slashes.

Skirts must be at least knee length.

No sheer clothing.

No jeans, track pants, workout pants, joggers. Leggings may be worn under skirts (but not as pants).
