Auditions for next Season’s VoiceOver, Bella Visi, Fortis, and Contessa are now open!

Singers can begin preparing and submitting video auditions for Season 14 (Sep 2023 – April 2024). There are 2 steps to contemporary ensemble auditions: (1) submit a video audition by midnight of Tuesday, April 4, 2023, and (2) if invited, attend a live in-person callback audition on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 6:30 to 9:30pm. Callback list will be published Sunday, April 30 (the day after our Season 13 Finale Concert) at 4pm.

Call time for Tech and Dress Rehearsals on December 9 and 10

Please check your call times for Tech and Dress Rehearsal on Friday and Saturday, December 9-10, 2022 at the Brandt Center in Nampa. Please be aware that we’re performing at the Brandt Center at NNU, which is in Nampa. For most, this is a 30 to 45 minute drive. Please make every effort to be early and to plan for inclement weather.

Assemble your own outfit for the Season 13 Winter Concert

To reduce financial burden on families and because last season’s Finale Concert outfits looked so sharp, we’ve decided to retire the official Cantus concert black outfits. Cantus singers will provide their own outfits for our concerts this season. We will provide guidelines and then let you show your own style. These outfits will have different themes/criteria for the Winter Concert and Finale Concerts.

Extra opportunity: You could sing backup for Gentri, auditions due Oct 18

Cantus has been asked to prep 65 singers for Gentri’s backup choir at their November 29 and 30th performances at Boise’s historic Egyptian Theatre! 3-6th graders will perform 2 songs, and 7-12th graders will perform 3 songs. Auditions are due midnight Tuesday, October 18, 2023. First rehearsal is Sunday, October 23 at 6 to 9pm with a parent meeting at 6 to 6:15pm. Read for more details!
